Bought MacBook at Apple Store a month ago. Store tech transferred my files from my iBook G4 to new MB. We're wireless w/ Airport Extreme / DSL earthlink. Everything was ok until I tried to "update software." I get error messages: Software Update can't check for updates because of a network problem. When I proceed and do Network Diagnostic, I get: Server failed or I'm not connected to the internet. I already dumped the appropriate folders and through AppleCare did a reinstall--that created more probs--I've spent too many hours/days w/AppleCare and it's driving me crazy. Has anypne encountered this issue?

Are you able to access the internet using the laptop?

yes, I am able to connect/access Internet. The only differences between MacBook and iBook is I signed up for .Mac account. I'm still using Entourage even though .Mac is set up--could that be causing the problem? Also, have a new HP desktop wireless printer.
