Hello everyone,

Just though I'd chime in a post some temps I've observed. If anyone else would like to post some too that would be cool.

14" ibook G4 1.42ghz 1.5gb (I used temperature monitor 3.7 to get these)

On lap watching dvd: 120-125F degrees
On desk web surfing: 105F degrees
On lap web surfing: 110F degrees
On desk running classic playing war craft 2: 150-155F degrees (running classic and playing games near maxes out the cpu)
Max temp observed: 160F degrees

Any one tried out a macbooks yet? Wow are they extremely hot. Just at idle, doing nothing, they felt about as hot as my ibook G4 when it's working hard.

I'd like to see some ibook G3 temps and earlier revision G4's to get some comparison. Do the older G4's like the 933 and 1ghz tend to run cooler than the last revision 1.42 ibook G4's? How about the G3 ibook to they generally run cooler?

thanks to everyone thats posted

wow...those fahrenheit temps mean nothing to me, lol. computer temp measurements are most often in *C

here are my temps from a 12" ibook g4 1.33

web surfing on desk - 48.8*C
100% load ("yes > /dev/null" in terminal and playing divx) - 64*C

i've also taken my ibook apart and replaced all the thermal pads with arctic silver 5 paste
