I have an Ibook G4 with the following specs:
800mhz
L2 cache 256kb
256k Ram
Bus133 mhz
boost rom 4.7.7
30gb
This is a secondary laptop and i was just wondering if i should upgrade it for general use.
The only thing that is used on the ibook that takes up ram is The Sims II.
If i should upgrade some components can you also give some suggestion and places.
Thanks

Check if the battery is under recall. Next, buy a 512MB RAM stick for it.

Def max the RAM out. The iBook G4 800MHz is a great Mac, I wouldn't let it just sit and collect dust. Multiple user accounts, like on any Mac, affect the hard drive space, and RAM if you have fast user switching on.

I think that the max amount of RAM you can put in that model is 2GB. There are two slots, so two 1GB sticks will bring you to 2GB.

I am not sure if it is a single or double slot because i was looking at another site and it said it has 1 slot and max's out at 6**MB Ram.
This g4 was purchased new 3/04
Thanks for the help so far
i see CC and bestbuy have 512 200 pin rams for sale for under $50, are these good prices and do the brands matter?
