i will be getting a MBP as soon as they update and i will be useing it for Photoshop, Final cut Ex, Apature, and so on. i heard a glossy screen increases your contrast? and is better for images. this also increases glare and shows a different look to the pic/film then what it would look like to the normal computer/tv right? is glossy nice or a pain in your veiw, i need help making up my mind.

If you can go to an Apple Store – they have them there, even on some MBPs.

I like mine more than matte, but its personal preference.

When I went to buy my MBP, I had already used a MacBook which has the glossy screen and so I was sold on it. In fact I wasn't gonna buy it unless they had the glossy screen available in the store. Luckily they have both available. The glossy screen does give off a little more glare than the matte screen but that's easily fixable by changing the screen angle. It definitely gives a richer color and image. It's also much better than any glossy screen I've used on a PC laptop. Don't know how but it gives off less glare than PCs.

As for updates to the MBP, most people are expecting Core 2 Duo processors and possible speed bumps. Some are also expecting/hoping for case upgrades to get some of the things the MacBook has now like a magnetic screen latch. If you can wait, might as well since it's expected so soon.
