Hey there
Im fairly new to the macworld, and need some help. im really familiar with the more recent line of macs, but i need some advice about older macs. I've a 3yr old Pentium 4 (2.66ghz) Sony Vaio that im selling for $325. Im willing to reinvest another $50 into getting a Mac notebook, and from what i can tell, i can only get an iBook G3 for that price...most of the G4's would require investing atleast another $250-300
Im afraid that a G3 (about 800Mhz) will be a huge performance bump down from the Pentium 4 that my vaio's got.
Im graduating from college next year, and would rather wait til then b4 i buy a whole new system. if i can find a way to break even or nearly even and get an old Mac, id really like to. any ideas?
thanks!

I have a 900MHz iBook, definately no problems. It's essentially the same as the first generation of G4's minus the altivec engine, which you won't notice during the majoring of tasks. It's a perfectly servicable machine for everyday use.
