Hi.
I recently reinstalled OS X Tiger on my Macbook and I am interested in knowning what applications are installed by default from the 2 accompanying cd's that came with the Macbook.
I recall finding information about this on the apple website but I have been unable to find that page on successive attemps. Hence, I am posting here instead.
FYI, my defaul install is 10.4.6
I am particularly intersetd in reducing the size of the OS install to as small a size as possible and doing away with apps that I feel are unneeded by myself.
For example, I do not want to have iChat, Photo Booth, Address Book, etc. installed on the computer.
Thanks!

without using any other 3rd party programs, the smallest size is roughly 2.2gb if i recall correctly.
possible 3rd party ways to reduce the size would be appzapper. when doing a clean install, there isn't a list of programs included in the minimal install, but there is a list of programs that you can decline to install.

Sir you jest eliminated the use of a MacBook. Thats like ridding a invisible horse you are riding a something and not enjoying it. What apps do you want on there?
You sound like a ol PC user that can tell a Mac from a Dell, HP, etc.

The apps you're talking about deleting are tiny, abjacs. If you don't want them, you can put them in an Unused Applications folder, but there's absolutely no reason to delete them.

Agreed. This is not answering your question, but it will be far harder to find and download those small apps later on when you can just file them away on your hard drive somewhere. The biggest space hoggers than can be easily deleted are: - iDVD and themes
- GarageBand and all loops (several GB)
- Unused printer drivers (at least a couple of GB)
- Unused language localizations
I believe you can deselect all of these during the Mac OS X install process. If not just use OmniDiskSweeper to find all the space-hoggers (it's a free to use app, you don't need to pay for the basic functionality).
