iBook battery recall-replacement is here

Four to six weeks was the original estimate for arrival of replacement batteries in the latest recall...I got mine today, two weeks after calling Apple.
Anybody else get theirs yet?

Same here-they tried to deliver it yesterday when nobody was home, but we have it now. 12 days by my count-not bad!

Not bad at all, but now I have a concern.
About a week ago the serial number range changed and my battery was no longer covered--after I had been told on the phone by the Apple rep it was covered and after I ordered the free replacement.
There's a list on the back of the receipt from the box that says that if the part is not covered and returned, I'll be billed $100. If it is not covered and not returned, I'll be billed $120.
Somehow I feel like a fast one was pulled, and that I acted in good faith to return what I was told was a defective battery (on the website and by a real person) and then told otherwise after the new one was ordered.
On one hand, if I return it and it is not covered, I get billed $100. On the other hand, if I keep it, I am guaranteed to get billed $120 for the new battery. If I am going to get charged, I'll keep both and pay the $120. The old battery still has 4000 Ah capacity so is quite usable yet.

you'd figure that since they sent it to you, after taking the battery serial and the computer serial, it's their fault, and that their computers would have caught it before mailing it out.
I received my battery yesterday, after ordering it on whatever day the recall was announced. Instant awesome battery life! Makes me remember why I loved this machine when I got it 2 years ago.

It's raining batteries! Yesterday I got mine and it works fine. Today I got a SECOND one. Problem is, I have only the one iBook. Apple tells me I can keep the second one. So, CBR, wanna buy mine?

If it was covered when you applied for the replacement, I'd be very surprised if you get charged for it. In my experience, Apple tends to be pretty reasonable. If you do get charged, you'll have to call Apple and make your case. My guess is they'll credit the charges and honor the original agreement - it would be pretty snarky if they didn't.

Wow, same here...battery #2 showed up today. Maybe Apple isn't terribly concerned since Sony is paying the bill.
They tolod you to keep yours, and that's awsome news. Still, I'm going to call myself "just in case."
