Hey guys,

Here's my situation, I'm in Canada so all prices are in Canadian dollars. I'm going to be buying a laptop in the near future. I work at a local electronics store and we have a 17" PowerBook G4 in stock and I think I can get a pretty good deal on it around $2000 or so. But with the Intel MacBook Pro out I kinda think one of those would be better mainly because of the processor. I most likely also wait forthe Core Duo 2 processor in the MacBook Pro. So my question to you all is if you had to choose between getting a 17" PowerBook G4 (w/ a dual layer DVD burner, FW800, etc.) and a 15" MacBook Pro with less features what would you do?

From the Apple site, it looks like for an extra $200 you can get a MBP. I would go for it. Intel is the future, and if you're going to use this laptop for a long time, you don't want to settle for past technology. You might not notice it now, but 3 years down the road you will.

Just my 2 cents.

i personally think u should wait for the core 2 duo MBP in the 2nd week of September 12th, if ur planning to use it for the long run with some budget of course, its not gonna be cheap. If ur budget is constrain i say u should go for the 15" MB pro.

- but the Merom MBpro is 64bit equipped, makes it an advantage.**
