Hi all,

I just got a 30gb Hitachi drive from eBay for $16.00 to put in my 400mhz TiBook. I removed the old drive and installed the new one, booted up from the install CD. Began the install, and it showed no volume to install on. I launched Disk Utility, the new drive shows up there, I verified and repaired it, all was okay. I even partitioned it with a partition below 8GB just in case. Then, when I went back to the installer, it shows the new drive with a big red exclamation point and it said "OS X cannot be installed on this volume" with no explanation why. Any ideas??? I'm leaving town tomorrow and would like to have this resolved tonight.

Format it to HFS+. You don't need a partition lower than 8gb.
