Hello Everyone,

I've been having a problem with my Powerbook lately. When I go to my parents house and have my powerbook, I am forced to use dial-up (how sad). But when my powerbook is asleep and the phone cord is plugged into the computer and the phone rings, my laptop wakes up. I don't know why it does this. It's more of an annoyance than anything because once the phone is done ringing, someone picks up, or the answering machine picks up, it will go back asleep.

Has anyone else had this problem before or heard of anything like this? Does anyone know of any solutions besides what I've been doing lately which is unplugging the phone cord?

My guess is if you go in to Energy Saver in the System Preferences and click on the Options tab, you have "Wake when the modem detects a ring" checked. Uncheck it.
