I'm about to buy a MBP..not sure to go for 15" or 17". Would like to know if the 800 firewire on the 17" is worth the extra money & overall size? Is FW400 good enough for higher end video editing?? any feedback would be great.
Cheers

FW800 is better for higher end video editing, but putting an eSATA card in the ExpressCard slot (which both MacBook Pros have) would be both cheaper (eSATA card + enclosure is cheaper than FW800 enclosure) and faster (more bandwidth and it is the native disk interconnect so there is no conversion penalty). I'd only go with FW800 if you had a large existing investment in FW800 peripherals.
