Help! i was on my ibook a few minutes ago when the screen went blank. i was listening to music and the music was still playing after it went blank. When i turn it on, i hear the start up music and i hear the hard drive working and when i turn it off, i hear the hard drive shut down.

So im guessing the screen is gone or something else? Im not sure?

Help please

ok. i took out the battery or whatever is under the ibook. put it back in, waited a few minutes and turned it back on. its working now.

is there an explanation for this and what can i do to prevent this from happening again?

might it be some of the programs i have on it or do i have too many programs on it?

I would be blaming the fact that it's a G3. They had problems with the logic board which would cause artifacts/no video or problems with the screen cable which would mean the LCD was working but the backlight didn't come on.

I highly doubt it's a software issue.

Apple should replace it for free even though the repair program has expired. Technically they shouldn't but I have heard talk of them doing it.
