Hello everyone

I've got a problem with my Powerbook G4, in that it doesnt seem to recognise my battery. The light remains green all the time but the battery is not full and will not charge. I have tried a new battery so i know its not an issue with the battery. The new battery i got is 39 percent full but the laptop wont turn on without the adaptor plugged in. I have also tried to reset the PMU but this did nothing.

Does anyone have any other suggestions??

thanks

If it's the rev A 12" model (867 MHz) you may have a problem with the charging circuit on the logic board. That's what happened to mine.

maybe this is some planned obsolescense on apple's part...

I Just noticed this today... My battery is recognized by os x when i'm on the adapter but if i pull the adapter out my machine shuts down after a couple seconds... if i try to start up on the battery my girl tries to make her startup sound but she sounds like she's got a throat cold if she can get it out at all...

So i've reset the pmu also but no help

My battery is the affected one from the recall... i haven't gotten mine yet as i've just moved and the battery was sent to the old address...

does anyone have a solution? and I thought pram batteries went with the wind?? (when i start up after removing the power adapter all my dates are reset and without trying the pmu reset)

It's also pretty common that this is just simply a bad battery. Happens a lot with MacBooks as well. It's also the cheapest to check out.

Just take it somewhere where you have access to another battery, throw it in and see if it works.
