my dad has an older AL powerbook, bought in the end of '03 i believe, very good condition. it is a 1ghz g4 with 512, superdrive and 40gb hd.how much do you think its worth?

$600 seems about right. Somewhere between $550 and $650 is what I would say, depending on cosmetics. If you're lucky, you can get $700 from someone wanting the novelty of the 12" PowerBook no longer offered.
