Hey folks, I have a mint condition G3 Clamshell Graphite iBook. 366mhz, 128mb > 512mb, 6GB HD still. I mainly want to use this comp as my iTunes/iPod computer, and just to web browse. Anyways, I have been cursed with 10.2 Jaguar, which isnt too bad, but I can't put iTunes 5(which came with my nano) onto my system cause I'm still at 10.2.4, and can't find the update for 10.2.8. SO here is my thing:

Anyone have iTunes 3 or 4 and could send me the installer files?

Anyone know where I can get the 10.2.8 update?

IS it just easier to go to Panther?

Would Panther run fine on a 366mhz/512mb/40-80GB system?

Would Apple still do the Media Exchange(DVD to CD) on 10.3?

I'm so lost, Safari 1.0 is crap, MSIE 5 is worse, the HD is humming, and I just want my tunes on this ibook. The best I can find is iTunes 2, which doesn't really have much of a music store. If anyone could help, it would be greatly appreciated.

won't software update (located in system preferences) bring you up to 10.2.8? firefox works fine in jaguar.

I finally got Software Update to find the 10.2.8, had to instal other updates before it recognized the 10.2.8. I updated to 10.2.8, and now, whenever I put in my iPod+iTunes CD that came with my nano, it shows up on the desktop, I double click it, it opens a window that says 0 items, zero kb available. The window immediately shuts, the desktop disappears, and then the desktop reloads. After that, I have to do a hard eject to get the CD out. I did install iTunes 2.0.4 and it does not have an Auto Update feature, doesnt even recognize the nano, nor does it have a Music Store. What is the correct way to delete and remove programs/applications from your computer??

do any cd's play right? yes, 10.3 will work fine on your ibook. go to apple's support section and see if you can find a newer version of itunes. 2.0.4 i'm afraid won't get you where you need to go. i would reccomend going the upgrade route instead of deleting applications.

Gooser,

You're a life saver. The moment my Clammy comes back from being upgraded to a 120GB HD, it will get a fresh install of iTunes 4.7.1. Thanks again
