My friend has a Macbook that shuts down when she basically leaves the room for about an hour or two. All she knows is that she leaves it open, leaves the room, comes back after a few hours, and it's shut down. It could be a sleep issue, but she opens and closes it fine all the time. It never shuts down on her while she is using it. Any ideas on this? We're going to try installing the SMC update.

This could be the infamous shut down issue except it doesn't seem to fit exactly.

Update: It was a pre-cursor to full on RSS. Be warned if your Macbook starts doing this.

I always thought it was "Random Sudden Shutdown"

I know RSD is "Random ShutDown"

At least I think.
