My First BlacBook Kernel Panic at startup - help me understand

So I hit the power button and I get the text below...I was still able to launch MS Word and paste the text. I'm baffled. This is the first time this has happened on my ~WW22 MacBook - can anyone help me understand this???

BTW, I never had to restart...
