hey guys,
ok, so i'm in system preferences, i go to energy saver, click on options tab, and i tell it not to reduce brightness before display sleeps. but it still reduces brightness before the display turns off...

is this a bug?

Yes, it's definitely a bug. Mine has a bad habit of doing that sometimes too. You'll notice that your MacBook is sporadic in its inability to remember that simple preference. I'm sure that by now, Apple is at least vaguely aware of the bug. Here's hoping that 10.4.8 fixes it.
