Recently purchased a macbook pro 1.83 ghz off of ebay. This being my 1st mac product. Received in great condition, but no restore dvd's. Seller says he'll refund me some $$ for not including them which is fine. I can not find any restore discs or even operating systems for that matter that I can buy anywhere?? Like I said this is my first mac product. Where can I purchase the Os x tiger for intel core duo macbook pro? Everything on ebay is saying will not work on the intel setup my notebook has. Thanks for any info ~

The only way to get restore discs for your computer is to call Apple and order them, as X86 versions of Tiger are not available at retail locations.

FWIW, the restore disks don't just contain the OS. They also include all the software (e.g. iLife and third party applications) and licences for that software as well.

hi, so he refunded me a small amount. I purchased the retail tiger. But when I was trying to reformat says incompatible. I call apple, tech tells me it'll work just boot from the dvd hold down C. Holding C does nothing just goes str8 to the desktop as usual. Emailed seller, he told me to just use the admin password and change in options. Played with that for a bit, but all I ended up doing was creating another Admin (me) so now I have 2 admin accounts does that matter?? Dont know how to delete the one I just created or the old one as I dont see any option and I cant just right click lol like in windows.

Main concern though is how do I set notebook to boot when I hold down C? Any help guys? I can always call apple support again, but they dont seem to have patience for newbs lol. Thanks in advance.

Retail Tiger is for PPCs. As far as I know, there is no universal version of Tiger for sale at retail.
You will have to get your hands on some recovery CDs. These are very common on ebay.

Here's one right now...
