Will this drive run in a MacBook? I really need more internal space and I already have a 100 Gb drive, so 120 won't do any good.

Yes, if you get the SATA version; the ATA100 version will not fit.

The one you listed is only 4200rpm. I would go for a faster 5400. If you can find a 7200rpm drive it will be even faster. The faster the rpm the less battery life you may get though.

Go with the Hitachi drive listed by b11051973 in the thread above, it is far better.

what are the advantages of the hitachi drives? Seagate has a longer warranty (5 years vs. 3 years for everyone else) and this very thorough review, lists 5400rpm seagates being superior to 7200rpm hitachis?

it is a very thorough article, but the link is to the conclusion, in case you don't want to read through the first 14 (yes, fourteen) pages of the article.
i would think seagates are a better choice.
