From the frequent use, the palm rest surface by the speakers, mouse pad, and keypad should expect ‘stains’ or whatever the hell these marks are. I've cleaned 'em off with a moist (but not wet) cloth. Is there a better way to clean this surface?

Indeed, I am serious. Magic Erasers have done wonders for iBooks, so I see no reason why they wouldn't work on your PowerBook/MacBook Pro.

Consider that the iBook does not have a finish on it while the Powerbook and MBP does. Test in an inconspicuous area.

I know, I'm simply using the iBook as an example of how well they work at removing those stains.

use a towel and water or diluted cleaner and thats all you should need. i use disinfectant wipes...but i wouldnt use the magic eraser on mbp as it actually sands off layers of the surface which would probably lead to quicker pitting of the aluminum finish...just my thoughts though.
NOW YOU SEE ME! 2.4 MBP and 2.0 MBP (running ubuntu)
