So last night I went to Microcenter and picked up a 2.0 GHz MacBook (white). I wanted a BlackBook, but they only had one that was a return for repair. They wanted $1449 for it, and it was ineligible for AppleCare and a shorter warranty because it was a return. So I opted for the 60 gig HD option and used the money I saved to get 2 GB of RAM. I've been using a PowerBook that has an 80 gig hard drive, and I've used about 40 of it.

So last night I was downloading a bunch of updates and transferring data over my Airport Network, but haven't had a chance to really play with it. So far I'm impressed. I like Front Row.

So my plans for the machine are to upgrade the hard drive and install Windows XP via Boot Camp. So far I haven't had any excessive fan noise or heat. I do have a couple questions:

(a) RAM installation was easy, but the left side didn't seem to fit well. Has this been your experience?

(b) Is there a way to get Front Row to close iTunes/iPhoto upon exiting Front Row?

(c) Any good widgets that will show temps? I used iStat Nano on my PowerBook, but it only seems good for G4 machines. It doesn't show any temps on my MacBook.

(d) Any "must have" programs?

(e) Your thoughts regarding Parallels vs. Boot Camp

Thanks in advance! This is a great place.

Unless you want to play games in Windows go w/ Parallels. It's great.
