A friend said the hard drive had died, so she gave it to me for nothing. 20 minutes later I'd fitted in my spare 20" drive and Panther was installing on it. What a lovely machine it is, I'd gone straight from a 3400c to a 12" PB then to a TiBook and so not owned one of the classic G3 models. I'm amazed how well it runs Panther with only 192mb of RAM, it even works fine with the wireless PC card I use in my TiBook.

That's all, just spreading my happiness

Hmmm. I was finishing up optimizing after installing 10.3.9 when it went mad and everything locked up and nothing would quit. Had no option but to restart and now it won't boot so it looks like I need to start from scratch again.

Grrr.
