Hi Guys, before I converted to mac I was busy converting my old vinyl to digital. I want to carry on and am looking for a converter for my macbook. I have found this one, but wondered if anyone had tried to do this ? Any advise would be great......

If your Mac has a line-in port, that's all you need (I'm assuming you already have an RCA to mini cable). Otherwise, try the Griffin iMic.

Edit. I missed the part where you said you had a MacBook....you don't need any adaptor.

Depends on how comfortable you are with audio editing. Audacity is free, but you may prefer CD SpinDoctor as it has some nice features like automatically recognizing tracks and better export formats.
