Hi:

Nothing in a search.

No crashes or problems, but 'About this Mac' is not showing my original 512 RAM. It's showing the I gig stick just installed last week. The total 1.5 RAM did show initially.

G4 1.5 Powerbook

Stumped! Any ideas?

Thanks guys.

Cheers.

edit: just found this --

Last Run: 09/10/06 8:50 PM
Result: Failed
Failure type: Memory
Memory slot: SODIMM1/J25UPPER

This newb still stumped:-)

This is a known 15" PB problem (if your machine is 15"). This has been discussed many times in the forum. I don't know what the latest Apple policy is on getting this known problem fixed.

Sounds like the well known, dreaded, and widely reported PowerBook lower memory slot failure.

Hope you have AppleCare!

Called Applecare. First class. Thanks Antoine!

Restart. Hold down 4 keys. White screen. 'Reset' (firmware). Et voila, 1.5 gig RAM again!
