I finally purchased a new machine

I bought a 17" Mac Book Pro from the Apple Store about an hour ago. It's beautiful, and I didn't get much time to inspect it but it seems perfect. It might be me but I think the screen bleeds a little too much but I'm unsure.

I didn't get to really use it because I had to rush to class which luckily I barley made in time. One thing I noticed was that I closed the lid and I can hear the fan still. The screen was off, and I dont think the light was pulsing. I know with my powerbook it's dead silent. I also noticed it was pretty warm for being closed(no, it wasn't being charged yet) Is this normal?

I'll be buying a 23" display or a 24" dell screen in a month or so and a few other goodies. I can't wait to get home. This class is going to feel like forever

How long did you wait to see if the machine really went to sleep? It could be safe sleep. I don't have a machine that supports it, but it must take at least some time to store the RAM contents to the disk.

It was a good amount of time, I'd say ten to fifteen minutes. All I did was turn the machine on for the first time and close it. (After I created an account.)

Well I got home, opened the lid and nothing happened, I pressed space bar, enter.. I had to hold down the power button. The pulsing light even got stuck think.. What a great way to start off!

Works fine now I think.
