I've got a TiBook running 10.4.8 currently. I no longer need OS 9 - what's the best way to get rid of it? I have AppZapper, so I could get rid of that, or I could just get rid of the system and apps folder...

Thanks!

you may want to keep it to run the classic environment in os x...if not, just drag the OS 9 system folder and apps to the trash

if you use the music program Reason. you'll want to keep it.

i deinstaled os9 and when i went to use reason it said some of the things it needed were missing. so i was like, ****. so i reinstalled os9 (just a why not? type thing) and started reason again and it worked.

trash everything FROM the system folder; log out, in...then u should be able to trash the (now empty) sys folder...

btw reason runs perfect in 10.4.8 (i've been using reason for years);
you prob lost some essential files, just reinstall the app! (dont lose your sounds/rns files tho!)

Understood..my point is its only going to free up a really small amount of disk space so just keep it for grins. The gb or two you free will most likely never be used any way. With it you can have a nice classic install or a nice dual boot. I am a huge fan of OS9 by the way, and really wish the had given us that user interface on a unix platform. So I can list a lot of reasons to keep it as opposed to freeing a small percentage of your space.
