Hi MBP people,

After numerous problems with macbooks, I have had 3 repairs, and a replacement machine that has come down with the same problem, Apple is replacing my machine with the basic MBP. I know that originally the MBP's have had problems, I was wondering if they have straightened most of those out by now. Apple will be sending me the 2.0GHz, 15.4", with the ram upgraded to a gig, do these seem to have all the rattles worked out?

The problems I have had with the macbook were:

1st machine (blackbook week 20), developed random shutdown after 2 months of use. First Repair: logic board replacement, RSS returned: Logic Board Replacement, RSS returned: Heat sink assembly replaced , RSS returned: Replacement Machine.

2nd machine (Blackbook week 32), received September 6th, RSS started today (4 occurences).

Thank you for any insight you may have.

I have a 2 week old MBP and I have had ZERO problems with it. It does not get overly hot (not compared to other laptops anyway), it doesn't make any sound except for the quietest of fans, and it's nice and fast! I think you'll enjoy it.

I bought a macbook in may and have not had any problems with it.... the only thing so far to go wrong was my magsafe crapped out.. but that was promptly fixed and have not had another problem.
