On my 15 inch MBP, i have a situation, where the case at the point where the button is has a bump on the top side of the button, as if it were bent. I have no idea how this could of happened because it is in the center of the computer. If anyone has had this happen to them, or understands what the problem may be, please post a reply and i can get some pictures uploaded so you can see it.

Same thing on a 17" MBP and I've heard others with this "problem" as well. Not really noticeable and doesn't affect anything so I'm not too worried about it.

My refurb came this way. Pissed me off, but I decided not to send it back.

I had the top case replaced on mine because paint chipped below the left Apple button and the guy glued that bump while he was at it. Now, if only my button wasn't so eaten up as well, it would look nice there.

Oh, and the chipping paint came back... in the EXACT SAME PLACE. No, this can't be a defect. ;P

Yes, that is the exact location where its bumped out....its more of a nuisance than anything becuase i want it to look nice. I thought it may have somthing do do with the latch, but thats good that its not. thanks.,

out of all the powerbook/macbookP I have seen that have dents, I'd say 95% have theirs in that exact same space...

My guess is thats is the weakest part of the front bezel since it is solid aluminum all the way across until you get to the botton where there is only 2 thin strips... seems to be the most likely place to bend to me because of the button hole.

both MBPs i've owned have had that, and 5 of the 6 MBPs that were ordered last month where i work are bent in the same location. my guess is that it's sloppy assembly, but i'm sure it's very easy to bend, careful assembly or not. it bothered me for a couple minutes, then i shrugged.
