You could try something like that. Not sure if it works with Macs even though it mentions Macbooks.
This is one thing that has always held back my purchase of a Macbook.
There's also a router if you are going to be stationary.

Apart from that ATROCIOUS website, the USB adapter available from the first link is $320 incl. shipping (though they don't tell you until you click "buy now").

For that price, I'd look into getting a Mac-compatible phone that does CDMA.

I'm relatively new to the phone world . . . . I've just used my RAZR for calling, nothing too fancy . . .

So . . downsides/upsides of CDMA? Ev-DO Options? Mobile Computing Options?

If your phone has bluetooth you could probably just tether it. That would be free and easy.
