i have a 2.16 core duo MBP w/ 2gb ram and 10.4.8.

i have it set to password the screensaver. sometimes if i leave the computer for a while (an hour plus) and it goes to sleep (either because screen is closed, or enough time elapsed), when i go to wake the computer up i run into issues....

A) instead of re-entering my password and going back to work, the computer is in the state that it is after a hard reboot...meaning i have the blue background, grey login box, and the OS and desktop all load fresh once I press enter.

B) i am greeted with the screen from A, but instead of allowing me to log in, it freezes, hanging at the rainbow swirly curser when i first press a key to enter my name...then i am forced to restart with the power button.

this happens maybe 1 out of 5 times...

any help?

adam
