Recently I've been reading up about the macbooks and I have convinced myself I need one. My main question is does Apple usually offer holiday discounts? Or no? Thanks
No, Apple does not usually offer holiday discounts. The holiday quarter is the strongest one, so there's no need to increase demand further. Apple gives discounts when it has excess inventory it wants to clear out.
