My stepson's Macbook lost his music. He shutdown the 'book one night, and the next morning when he booted up, no music or pix. He also had to re-updare iTunes. I'm at a loss, any help or info greatly appreciated.

Did he change the name of the home folder in the finder? Change it back to what it was if he did.

I did a little searching on his HDD and located his missing data. I don't know how it happened, but at least it's found. Thanks for your help.

PS: Actually, he did rename the home folder. Thanks for your hint.
