Has this been reported before? Since applying the new firmware (1.4f12, maybe it's a coincidence), my week-39 Macbook has started to rumble. It's definitely not a "moo", it sounds more like a bad fan bearing, or a rattle of some kind. The origin of the sound seems to be the "MacBook" lettering. And the pitch of the sound varies with the speed of the fan, an octave down from the pitch of the fan. It's not terribly loud, but if it's not good enough for Steve Jobs then it's not good enough for me either.

Anybody else experienced this? Am I gonna need to take it in?

Seems like a bad fan to me. Take it in before the fan dies and causes your MacBook to overheat.
