Hey all,

I'm going to get the entry level c2d mbp, except I wanted to upgrade the 1gb ram to 2gb.

Does anyone know if the apple stores would carry this type of config or do they only do the 3 standard configurations as seen on the apple online store?

thanks

They only have standard configurations at the Apple Store. But while you CAN have the store add RAM, it's EXPENSIVE-way more expensive than ordering one with extra memory. Get the standard configuration, buy the RAM and install it yourself because it's not that difficult, and you'll save a LOT of money.

In case of the CoreDuo MBP some Apple stores had configurations that were CTO on Apple webstore, so I would think it will be similar with Core 2 Duo. But as ghporter said, it's cheaper to get the memory somewhere else and install it yourself.
