Hey everyone,
I have to do some on-the-road automated dialog replacement which I usually do on my Power Mac in Soundtrack Pro. It's cumbersome to say the least to pack up the desktop, so I'm looking for a laptop which can get the job done.
Money is tight. I'm looking for an option in the sub-$700 range, if it exists. I have a little Pismo that I use for internet and such (which set me back a cool $250 awhile back) but I don't think he packs the firepower needed for any recent version of Final Cut Studio. I don't really need to do video editing - no HD or anything - I just need it to have enough juice to play back the video and audio in SP without skipping.
There are a lot of models to choose from, both on these boards and eBay. Does anyone have a suggestion for the notebook that would fit my needs? Thanks very much.
