Hi,

My HD is always writing and bothering me. I don't hear the little scratching sound though that I associate with HD's. I hear litle clicks. Then, when the HD stops spinning as it does like every minute(!), I hear a little click-clunk. It's not very loud but it gets annoting in a quiet environment that I usually work in.

I have listened to some sounds of failing HD's on the net and they don't sound like my drive so I don't think that the HD is necessarily failing or anything. But I do want to know if any other users have encountered these sounds.

Why does the HD have to park its head every minute or so?! Is it normal? Should I call Apple about this?

I don't ever recall hearing HD parking or other unusual sounds on my C2D. Have you googled; I think I have read about some software to stop this but not sure.

So, should HD parking be quiet to the point that I can't hear it? Can anyone else hear thier HD parking?

BTW. I looked for that software but couldn't find anything. I would try it if I could find it but I really feel like I shouldn't have to go to such measures.

Thanks for your reply.
