So I got a new Firmware upgrade last night + a new iTunes...

The FW was supposed to correct random shutdowns...I am hoping it stops some of the Kernel panics I got when starting up from sleep. Any one know anything about this second FW upgrade since the orig MacBooks were released? Was this one also addressing heat issues or???

You should install it no matter what so best just to do it and see for yourself.

If that doesn't do it take out any added ram. If that still doesn't fix it contact Apple support.

Glad your RSD's stopped Photo678.

My kernel panics were not very frequent, but had no clue why they happened.

This update was very quick. The instructions led me to believe my fans would charge on full-blast for a bit, but nothing like that happened. Was not even sure the update took. It was nice & smooth - not like a windows update ;-)
