how should i expect civilization 4 to run on a new C2D macbook with 2 gigs of ram? how would it compare to running the windows version run under bootcamp or parralels?

Thanks a lot for your help.

The best way to find out is try running the demo. Since the C2D has the same GPU as the CD MacBook, which is what I have, it will run like crap. I couldn't see any background graphics, just artefacts. It could be called playable, I suppose, but barely.

I've heard that the demo is not an accurate assessment of how the actual game plays on a Macbook. I've heard that the actual game is slow, but playable, on a Macbook. I've also heard that it's a bit faster in Windows.

Check out the Mac Civ IV forum at civfanatics.com for more details. I haven't heard of any practical difference between the C2D macbook and the CD macbook in terms of Civ IV. But then again, I'm the guy who opted to buy a used 12" PB over a MacBook based chiefly on percieved Civ IV performance. My 12" PB definitely lags during the endgame for standard and larger games....
