Hi:
I'm here to find a diagostic for my Ibook G3 700, dual usb, 12"

The simptoms are:

* Black Screen (It start up for few minutes if it had been disconected for a long time)
* When it start up look fine, but after few minutes the display fails then come black sreen.
* Chimes when start up but no video
* The external monitor works just when the lcd screen works, when the LCD fails and go black the external monitor fails and go black too.
* the battery is charging but it discharge fast.

I dont know if this is enough to make a dignostic, but please make any question you want.
I'm able to disasamble and asamble an IBook by myself, just need a diagnostic.

Thanks a lot
Jare

sounds a lot like the G3 logic board failure to me. Do a search on G3 or ibook Logic board and you'll find lots of threads on this problem.
