I use my 12" pb with the lid closed, attached to bluetooth keyboard/mouse & an external monitor. For the longest time, the fan always came on in thsi configuration. Yesterday, I needed to use the ethernet connection (instead of the usual airport connection) & the fans have been off since. I used it this way all day today & the fans haven't kicked in once. Switching from airport to ethernet is the only change I can think of that I made. The computer is also running about 8-10 degrees celsius cooler than before. If this is because of the ethernet, I may just continue to use it.

Any thoughts?
