My friend at work got a macbook and he's new to Mac. He got one partly because I brag about how much I love apple. Of course he had to get it replaced once for some issue I can't remember, but now the new one is falling pray to the random shutdown issue. He reinstalled the firmware, but it did it again.

My selfish question is, do the new macbooks fix this issue? Is the 2nd generation not have that design flaw that seems to cause the issue?

I just feel bad for my friend and I wanted to buy one soon, but now I'm nervous.
