Hi, I've searched the forums but did not found a real solution yet.

I would like to output 720p = 1280x720 through VGA in OSX on a projector Panasonic AE900 (which supports this resolution in VGA mode). However, OSX only shows 1280x768 to be selectable, no 1280x720.

The strange thing is, I've installed XP on the same MacbookPro, and 1280x720 can be selected, and the output on the projector is as desired.

I would like to select this mode in OSX, but rather without any third party software or hacks (as mentioned in these forums), since it's natively possible in XP. I'm using the most recent MacBook Pro, 2.16 GHz.

Any suggestions?

ok, i have found this can only be solved with either directconfigx or switchresx. does anybody know the exact settings for a panasonic ae900? (front / back porch, sync etc.etc.) or does anybody know where to look up these specifications?

Don't change them. Just choose the resolution.

Yup, dont change the resolution. The computer will pick up the native resolution of the display ure connecting to automatically.
