Has anyone ordered a Windows preinstalled Macbook Pro? Can you tell me what the partition was? Does it void Apple's warranty? Does it come with the original HD or do they substitute a different HD? Does it come with all the Windows discs?

Thanks in advance,

-S

It comes with the original HD. It does not void Apple's warranty since it is installed using Boot Camp. It doesn't come with the discs. There is a discount if you buy the discs with it and install it yourself.

Not selling the discs with the software should be illegal. Then again, it's MacMall, so it doesn't surprise me.

Dell and HP don't give you the disks either any more.

I had to order and pay extra to get the disks from HP, and worse .. they ONLY work on the HP and no other system.
- iMac 3.2Ghz 1TB - MacBook Pro 15" Core i7 2.3Ghz / 256SSD (Work laptop)
- PowerMac G5 - Dual 2.0 Ghz, 3GB, Soundsticks!,
- Lenovo Thinkpad T510 (also a work laptop), Win 7 Enterprise, 8GB, 320GB HDD

Actually HP doesn't give you a restore disk. They keep the restore ability on a separate "restore partition". If you want an actual disk you have to order it from them for like $15 - $20.
(Which is what I did.)
