hey.

i'm smart enough to know the answer to this question, but i am really trying to justify getting a 30" acd so i want to make totally certain that i'm correct.

i have a 17" powerbook5,1 (1ghz). there's no way to connect that to a 30" acd, right? the dual-link dvi is required for any (decent) functionality at all, isn't it?

You need a machine with dual link to get the maximum resolution on the 30".

in the event that this helps someone else later, with my powerbook as described above hooked up to a dell 3007fwp max res was 1280x800.

You need either a last revision PB or MBP to drive a 30",

Double check Apple's site for specifics.
