During the SMC firmware update my computer crashed resulting in my SMC firmware being corrupted. Currently my computer says that there is no battery installed and the fan runs constantly. I have tried resetting the PMU and PRAM and this has done nothing.

I have also downloaded the Firmware Restoration CD 1.2 and have tried to reset my firmware but I can't get the cd to boot. I have tried to follow the instructions on apples site ( http://www.apple.com/support/downloa...ationcd12.html ). However, when I hold the power button down I never see any blinking lights and the Macbook just turns itself back off. Also I have tried holding C on startup, but have had no luck

Does anyone have any ideas?

I tried reinstalling the update for about the 40th time and it finally just worked. Must have been a combination of reseting my PMU and PRAM and just being persistant with trying to reinstall the firmware. It did work after recently trying the cd but I don't think the CD reset the firmware, if it did it was just for the SMC and not the EFI. Also, I never saw the progress bar for the restore if it did work. Hope this helps anyone who may have the same problem.
