**I meant "worth" the extra cash....doh**

I'm thinking of trading in my 12" PB G4 for a new 15" PB. My only question is which 15" to go for. Is it worth the extra cash to get the 256MB video card? I play WoW and would like to play some other games in BootCamp.

Will the games run that much better? Is it better to load up on the RAM instead for the cash?

Thanks!

It wouldn't be available if it wasn't worth it. Some games like Quake 4 and Doom 3 which have Extra Quality settings need the extra video ram or the game will stutter. If money is not that important then get the cheaper MBP with the 128 video card. If money is of importance then get the high end 15"MBP with the 256MB video card because if you are a gamer it will be money well spent.

IMO yes, a GB more of RAM, double the VRAM and 8% more CPU clock speed is worth $500 amortized over 2-4 years if one is doing any kind of graphics. I don't know how the VRAM may specifically affect gaming. Ifyou do add a second display the VRAM will be helpful.

Does anyone have first hand experience with seeing the 128 mbp vs the 256 in regards to WoW?

The 2GB of RAM and extra processing speed is worth the extra money. The extra video RAM is just a bonus.

I play Microsoft Flight Sim and FInal Fantasy XI on my 17" MBP, and it works perfectly! I have a dedicated PC for games, with an AMD 64-bit Opteron and 128MB ATI card, and Flight Sim has to be on lowest settings to even function. Final Fantasy was slightly choppier, but let me tell you this extra VRAM does wonders!
