i just bought a c2d macbook in canada and i'm wondering if the plug that comes with it is able to work in taiwan without a ac adapter

Apparently, North American standard connectors work fine in Taiwan. Check out Electricity Around the World for the details, but Taiwan seems to use 110VAC at 60Hz, just like we do in the U.S. and Canada (Mexico's standard seems to be a slightly higher voltage but the same frequency and the same connectors).

Apart from the plug, all Apple mobile power supplies will take any voltage from 100V-240V.
