I have a 2001 iBook with a dead battery. I purchased a couple of used, OEM replacement batteries on eBay. The white plastic on the battery cover on the "new" batteries isn't quite a match with my iBook (must have been from later models) and both are in considerably worse condition cosmetically. Is there an easy way to pop the plastic cover off one of the "new" batteries and replace it with the cover from my original dead battery?
I don't want to start ignorantly prying and pulling...

Removing the plastic housing on the iBook battery will render it unusable. Do NOT remove the plastic housing.

I'm not talking about the housing, per se, just the shiny external white plastic cover plate. Can't this plate be removed and swapped?

It's the bottom of the machine that you'll rarely, if ever, see. Does it really bother you that much?

Doesn't bother me, but I'm going to sell it and get a MacBook, and wouldn't mind making it look as nice as possible.
The mismatched battery cover looks a little Frankenstein-esque.
