Ordered a new MBP (2.33/15"/matte/160GB) on 11/10 and was given a ship date of 11/28. This seemed strange since the store at that time was saying ships in 1-2 days. I was told by Apple that they had just gone on backorder.
From 11/10-11/28 the store continued to say ships in 1-2 days.
On 11/29, I received an email from Apple saying shipping has been rescheduled for 12/6. I called and asked about this, and was again told they are on backorder. I pointed out that their online store had this entire time told people they ship in 1-2 days, and asked why there was a discrepancy? They said they didn't know. I asked if others were getting their MBPs, and was told no, they are on backorder.
Needless to say, I'm a bit skeptical. So, have others been ordering and receiving their MBPs within this time period of 11/10-now?
As an interesting side note, I first posted this query on an Apple Discussion board. But before I could read the 4 replies, it was removed without notice or reason by an Apple administrator. I can't even read it now.
